Boards

All Around:  An excellent all purpose choice.  The longer the board the faster vs a shorter board which would be more manuverable.  The wider the more stable vs a narrower board which more be more carveable.

Crusier:  Generally better for choppy water and has a more pronounce bow for slicing through waves.

Entry Level:  Good for introducing your friends to the sport.

Inflatable:  A very nice board that packs back down to a knapsack, intended for touring.
