Skis

Powder Ski: This is a very fat ski say > 110 mm waist.  These skis use their considerable mass as added floatation in powder.   A strong skier can also use them on groomers.  Cambered Rocker Profile:  This type has extra bends at the tip and tail to reduce the actual ski base contact while on compact snow to improve tossability.

All Mountain Mid-Fat : They have a waist of approximately 85 - 100 mm.  The Mid-Fat has the extra lumber (lumber= stability) in a shorter packager (shortness = quick turns).  When compared to last century skinny skis you can subtract 20 cm lenght for similiar stability, for example a 210 cm skinny ski = a 190 cm mid-fat or a 190 cm skinny ski = a 170 cm mid-fat.  Mid-Fat skis are excellent with powder, crud, ice, groomers, moguls, steeps, that good snow up top, the frozen stuff in the middle, and the rain soaked schmoo at the bottom (sound familiar?).  All Mountain meaning for all types of snow and terrain.

Park & Pipe:  These skis are intended for those who feel the need dominate the terrain parks.  A Park & Pipe ski will have stronger side walls, balanced swing weight, twin tips, and are light.  Please remember to check out our helmet section as well.

Womens:  For the past tens years the ski industry has actually been making skis for women.  The Womens skis generally follow the 20 - 20 rule, 20% lighter and 20% softer (similiar to real women).

Beginner - Intermediate: These skis are very good for beginning - intermediate skiers.  The skis are lighter, have more flexiable tip and tail sections, and have an over emphasised ski shape.  The extra shape provides for a very easy turn (almost automatic ski turn), put them on edge, and they come around.
